The Center for Security Studies (KEMEA) and Futuro Perfecto Innovation (FPI) represented the SAUST project at the Projects to Policy Seminar (PPS) 2025, organised by DG HOME and REA.

This high-level seminar was designed to strengthen the link between EU-funded security research projects and policy-making. Its two principal objectives were to enable policymakers to better understand project outcomes and identify exploitable results, and to guide projects in positioning their outputs to influence policy and future funding programs.

The SAUST project actively participated in the “Strengthening, Research & Innovation” session, where key topics such as pre-commercial procurement, engagement with Law Enforcement Agencies, and clustering activities were discussed. During the second breakout session on “Advanced Surveillance, Detection and Robotics”, we presented the core components of the SAUST solution, emphasizing our commitment to delivering a validated, operational prototype by the project’s conclusion. We also proposed exploring synergies and collaboration opportunities with other EU-funded initiatives, including PARCEL, Border-Link, and I-Flows.

PPS 2025 provided invaluable insights and practical recommendations that will enable the SAUST project to maximize its policy impact, enhance end-user engagement, strengthen exploitation activities, and foster meaningful synergies through clustering. Proactive follow-up on these lessons will significantly enhance the project’s overall impact and long-term adoptionpotential.
