Authorities at Athens International Airport recently intercepted nearly 50 kilograms of restricted substances in passenger luggage. This case underscores the ongoing challenges airports face in detecting concealed materials and the need for more advanced screening technologies.

The SAUST EU-funded Project is developing high-resolution vapor screening technology to address these challenges. By improving detection accuracy and reducing false positives, SAUST helps ensure a more efficient and reliable screening process while maintaining baggage integrity and smooth passenger flow.

Through these innovations, SAUST contributes to safer and more secure air travel across Europe.
