On June 17–18, 2025, FPI represented the SAUST project at the second edition of the Detection Hub Workshop in Riga, Latvia, and the SilentBorder demonstration in Tõrvandi,Estonia.

Organized by KEMEA and GScan respectively, these events brought together multiple Horizon Europe projects to discuss cutting-edge research and real-world challenges in detecting illicit goods and strengthening border security across the EU.

Key takeaways for SAUST included:

  • Strategic alignment with AI-enhanced scanning and anomaly detection systems.

  • Valuable contacts and collaboration prospects with complementary initiatives.

  • Reinforced relevance of SAUST’s focus on smart, unattended surveillance in customs and logistics environments.

This participation reflects SAUST’s active contribution to EU-wide innovation and its ongoing commitment to designing field-ready solutions through engagement with end-users and research partners.
